News to Me
I have heard that Chicago is a dangerous city, only to find it to be one of the most friendly and hospitable places I have ever visited. I have heard that Washington DC is the murder capital of America, but found it to be beautiful and no scarier than any other place. And now, I heard something about the persistent rainfall threatening to submerge the city of Atlanta, but have arrived here today to a beautiful and sunny day, though admittedly a bit humid for my taste. I am told by the hotel front deskman that it was equally beautiful yesterday.

Y’know, I have always been one to want to keep my male and female sides separate. There is much to discuss on the merits or demerits of mixing genders – feminine masculinity and masculine femininity – but I’ll leave those for another time.
Right now, I am talking about my personal efforts to be a real guy when I’m a guy, and a real gal when I’m Jane. This requires, for me, a change not only of clothing but mindset, and so, I prefer to be Janie in as large blocks of time as life will permit, and my male self likewise in big chunks of time.

A recent encounter with a man reminded me of my own past difficulties – in another life – dating women. Now that I get to see things from the other side – her side – I really have to sympathize with both players in the dating dance.
Long ago, I was, as he and so many others are, the kind of man that could fall hard and fast for the right woman. As a woman, I am discovering just how unsettling that must have been for her!
The dating experience is just so different from the man’s and woman’s points of view.

“I’m beginning to wonder whether all of the things I love about you are Janie!”
That’s what my girlfriend said to me today. I don’t know whether to be insulted on behalf of the guy who’s been in this relationship for a very long time, or happy that she loves my girl side.
There was a time when she adamantly exclaimed her love for my arrogance, my strength and the hair on my face. But it seems she has been secretly having an affair with a much sweeter, smoother character who speaks in quieter tones, understands her feelings, helps her shop and likes to cuddle. How’s a guy supposed to compete with that?

A fellow blogger recently asked her audience for ideas on how to tell her fiancée about her crossdressing. The sense I got from the post was that she was looking forward to her fiancée’s absence – going away to school – because it would allow more dressing opportunities. They have been together for years and this “hobby” as she calls it was still a secret between them.
As I mentioned in my comment on her blog, my answer was longer than her post and would be better suited to being a blog post of my own. So here I am. And this is the advice I would give her:

The last of the major evening events for our Las Vegas week was a takeover of the entire VIP section of the Piranha Club.
The club surprised us by welcoming us with a huge poster. That was nice!
It was the full VIP experience, with three private rooms, lit in soft red light, bottle service and comfy couches. Those of us that wanted to dance went downstairs and gyrated to the pulses of “Club Music” which, I confess, sounds largely all the same to me. I danced a bit among the sweaty gay boys and some friends from the group, but for the most part enjoyed intimate conversation in the VIP room.

With a big party the previous night and another feature event the following night, the organizers of this fete did a really smart thing and got us access for the entire day to 2 adjoining cabanas at the Tropicana’s well-loved pool!
Hanging out for hours with the gurls with nothing to do but talk and relax (and drink margaritas if you were so inclined) was the perfect way to recharge. Beyond that, it was a great

The second day of our Las Vegas trip started out with us getting some supplies for the first of the suite parties, to be held that night. Partial to margaritas, we bought tequila, limes and orange liqueur, as well as fixin’s for guacamole, chips and salsa.
As became the norm with every day of this trip, by the time we turned around, we didn’t know where the day had gone! Between getting dressed as a girl, eating, having a coffee, and the traffic and distances between everything in Las Vegas, the day just vanishes.
