High Cheekbones

One way to feminize your face is to give the illusion of high cheekbones – a surprisingly easy thing to do.

The trick here, like with many other techniques, is about creating the illusion of shadows where you want valleys and highlights where you want peaks.

Look at those cheekbones

So, in this case, the apple of the cheek is the peak and the part of your cheek immediately below you cheekbone is the valley.

Using a blush, bronzer, or shadow that is a shade or two darker than your skin color, apply with a brush just below the cheekbone.  The easy way to know the exact location is to do a “model’s pout” – just pretend to be a caricature of a haughty model – or Dr. Evil from the Austin Powers movies.  Making that face will delineate your cheekbones.

A versatile, recommended product and shade for use here (depending on your skin-tone of course), is a Mac blush in a color called Emote, or alternatively Taupe. It shouldn’t be pinky or peachy. (MAC has come out with the Contour & Sculpt Yourself Palette, which includes pink and peach for blush along with four useful shades for contouring.)

Follow with a highlighter on the apple of the cheek.

In both cases, be sure not to leave any defined lines – blend well into your foundation.

Voila!
